A Message From Pastor Andy
Please see the message below from our Executive Pastor, Andy Johnson, followed by a brief note from me:
I want to let you know about a recent development with my health. A new spot has been discovered on my liver that seems to be a metastasis of past colon cancer. You may recall that I was diagnosed with colon cancer in November 2022. I had surgery to remove a portion of my colon and was treated with chemotherapy for three months. Though I was deemed “cancer-free” a little over a year ago, it seems that was not the case.
On the positive side, this one spot is the only recurrence, so we have great hope for a cure. I will have liver resection surgery on Wednesday, November 13, and a biopsy will determine if further treatment is necessary. I’ll likely be out of the office for around a month.
Of course, this was not anticipated and was difficult news to swallow. But Michaella, our kids, and I trust in the Lord and are handling it well. I’m reminded of Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” We will exalt our sovereign Heavenly Father on mountaintops and in the darkest valleys. Let us praise his name together!
I love the people at Ingleside. You have been gracious and kind to us in more ways than we deserve. Thank you for your prayers, love, and encouragement in the past and as we walk this new journey.
I know you will join me in praying for Andy, Michaella, and their kids as they face this challenge. I am thankful for their trust in the Lord and continued desire to honor him in this season. We will join them in blessing the Lord “at all times.” As for work, when Andy is out of the office, I will work closely with our Team Leaders to ensure that all responsibilities are covered and that the ministry continues. I love you and am grateful for you!
With the affection of Christ,
