Membership Matters
Our next Membership Class is this Sunday, January 12, at 4:00 p.m. If you have not yet attended that class, I hope you will.
What will the class cover? The class covers topics such as our beliefs, our values, our leadership structure, and our history. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and will be provided with some helpful resources.
Does attending the class make you a member? While attending the class is a requirement to become a member, you are not required to become a member if you attend the class. So, even if you are just interested in learning more about Ingleside, make plans to be there!
What about dinner? The class will take a break for dinner, and you will be provided an excellent meal in our Fellowship Hall at no cost. This also provides time for fellowship with others in the class and some of our staff.
Is childcare available? Yes, childcare is available on the Younger Preschool Hallway for children birth-5th grade. Dinner is provided to those in childcare as well.
Why does membership matter? The Bible teaches us that when you believe in Jesus, you are connected to others who also believe in Jesus. Those relationships are expressed practically as we worship, study, and grow together, care for and serve one another, and go with the gospel together. And those relationships are lived out primarily in a local church.
The church, then, is a wonderful gift from God. As a follower of Jesus, you are not alone! Church membership is a way of formally committing to a group of other Christians in order to follow Jesus together. The church will be a blessing to you, and you will be a blessing to the church.
So, if you are not yet a member of Ingleside, I hope to see you Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Just enter the east side of the building, and someone will be there to help get you to the right place.
With the affection of Christ,
