With a Grateful Heart

With A Grateful Heart…

It is with much excitement and a heart filled with gratitude that I write to you for the first time as the Lead Pastor! Cassie and I, along with our kids, are so thankful for you. We absolutely love our church family and are grateful to the Lord and to you that we get to be part of this church and that I get to serve you in this way.

We often say at Ingleside that “people are down on what they are not up on.” So, I want to make sure that you are “up on” a few things.

Children’s Pastor Update. We have been talking with a great candidate, Christian Sprout, about our Children’s Pastor position. Christian is married to Reagan, and they have one son and another on the way. Christian is currently a Children’s Pastor in Arkansas, with a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is also working on his PhD. After multiple video calls, Christian has visited our campus twice and will be back with his family this weekend. On Sunday, they will be in the 10:30 a.m. worship service and will have a chance to meet some Ingleside families afterward. I will have lunch with them on Monday to conclude their visit. I hope you will be praying for Christian and Reagan during this process.

July Schedule. As a reminder, we will only have one worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Center for the four Sundays in July. The preaching schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday, July 7 (Celebrate Freedom service): Andy Johnson, Executive Pastor
  • Sunday, July 14: Mark Hudgins, Membership Pastor
  • Sunday, July 21: David Peterson, Discipleship Pastor/Disciple Making Team Leader
  • Sunday, July 28: Wil Fason, Middle School Pastor/Next Generation Team Leader

If you are in town, I hope you will plan to be in worship on those days!

My Plans for July. In the month of July, my schedule will be a little different. On Sundays, I will have the opportunity to visit other churches and learn from them. I will be in the office most of the day on Mondays and Tuesdays to provide leadership to our staff. I will spend Wednesdays and Thursdays studying, praying, planning, and preparing for the coming year. This will also allow our church family to have a little time between our church-wide celebration last Sunday and the installation service, which will be on August 4. I look forward to being back with you on that day as we mark the beginning of a new season together!

With the affection of Christ,
